Manufacturing & Operations Manager Job in Mandurah

The Miami Bakehouse Group has been operating for 25 years and is a well-structured and leading brand in WA. Best known for award-winning pies, our Group is made up of a central manufacturing bakery and six cafes across WA’s southwest. With a reputation for excellence and huge growth year on year, we now require the assistance of an experienced Manufacturing & Operations Manager. We are seeking someone who can create an efficient manufacturing operation while building the abilities of their team.


About the role

This is a pivotal role in our organisation. Working with an experienced team, you will have a focus on operational efficiency, whilst ensuring product quality and supply demands are met. Reporting to the CEO your key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and day to day management of a production team across 4 departments

  • Manage the performance of each department to meet KPI’s (labour efficiency and waste reduction)

  • Implement and sustain efficient production processes with a focus on CI and lean principals

  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate and oversee the development and training of the team

  • Facilitate innovation in an engaging and productive work environment


This is a full-time position, approximately 45 hrs/wk, and will involve working on some public holidays and weekends. You must be flexible with your time and be available to work at both ends of the day when it is sometimes required.


Successful candidates need:

  • Strong experience managing and leading production teams in a fast-moving environment.

  • Exposure to food manufacturing

  • Proven track record for improving processes and practices

  • Demonstrated people management and a natural leadership ability

  • Excellent attention to detail, high level organisation and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to drive a positive and results oriented culture

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and team engagement skills across all levels

Certifications in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing principals would be highly regarded
