Bakery Production and Operations  Manager Job in Mandurah

The Miami Bakehouse Group has been operating for 25 years and is a well-structured and leading brand in WA. Known for award-winning baking, our Group is made up of a central manufacturing bakery and six cafes across WA’s southwest. With a reputation for excellence and continued growth year on year, we now require the assistance of an experienced Food Production Manager. We are seeking someone who can create an efficient manufacturing operation while developing and engaging the team.


The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the Production Manager is a pivotal role in our organisation. This is a hands-on role managing the people, processes, quality and safety in the bakery. Your focus will be on operational efficiency and team development to drive improvement of KPI’s. Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership and day to day management of a production team across 4 departments

  • Manage the performance of each department to meet KPI’s (labour efficiency and waste reduction)

  • Implement and sustain efficient production processes with a focus on CI and lean principals

  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate and oversee the development and training of the team

  • Facilitate innovation in an engaging and productive work environment


This is a full-time position, approximately 45 hrs/wk, and will involve working on some public holidays and weekends. You must be flexible with your time and be available to work at both ends of the day when it is sometimes required.


The Successful Applicant

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and capable of facilitating sustainable change. You must have:

  • 3+ Years experience in food production

  • Strong production/manufacturing leadership experience in a fast-moving environment.

  • Proven track record for improving processes and practices

  • Demonstrated people management and a natural leadership ability

  • Excellent attention to detail, high level organisation and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to drive a positive and results oriented team

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and team engagement skills across all levels

Certifications in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing principals would be highly regarded
